Laura Watson

Laura Watson lives and works in downtown Toronto, Ontario, with her husband, teenage daughter, and a large orange dog named Red. A childhood spent drawing, painting, and crafting led her to attend art school at York University and Sheridan College (in Ontario) to further her studies in fine arts and illustration. Since then, Laura has created cheerful and whimsical illustrations for children’s books and magazines, puzzles, maps, toys, fabrics, and stationery.

In her free time, Laura runs on the beach, reads, travels with her family, gardens, and takes long, adventurous walks with her dog. She is on the lookout for more adventures in illustrated books and particularly loves nonfiction projects about the natural world, animals, and travel. Her dream is to illustrate a world atlas or a children’s cookbook.
