María Marel

María Marel is an illustrator who creates artwork for editorial projects aimed at early readers, as well as educational materials and illustrated products. She loves drawing scenes with children, animals, and everyday moments, through which she conveys love, tenderness, positive energy, and a touch of humor. Although she studied Business Administration and Marketing, she chose to follow her true passion: illustration. She trained as a self-taught artist, attending courses and schools led by artists such as Jean Fraisse and Alicia Más. She lives between Seville (Spain) and Chipiona, her hometown—a coastal village in the south of Spain—which explains her deep love for the sea. She is passionate about books, cats, and photography, and her greatest inspiration comes from her two daughters.
